It's so incredibly lush and green here at the moment due to all the rain and I could easily imagine I was in Northern NSW.
"Wee Jasper is a village in the Goodradigbee valley at the western foot of the Brindabella Ranges, near Burrinjuck Dam in New South Wales, Australia in Yass Valley Shire. It is located 80 km north-west of Canberra and 54 km south-west of Yass" (Wikipedia) and The Wee Jasper Valley sits in an ancient seabed and has many places of interest for geology enthusiasts... as you will see by the images of circular rock formations in the landscape - really amazing!
From Wee Jasper we drove out to Carey's Cave (and plan to go back to do a cave tour) and then back-tracked a little way along Wee Jasper Road and turned on to Mountain Creek Road to get back to Canberra. Really beautiful countryside and a nice day for a drive. You can see more images here.
Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve back in July this year... but as usual there have been big gaps in time between blog posts...
The plan is to go back and explore the reserve in more details. More images can be seen here.

Namadgi National Park Visitors Centre for a look around. Walking out the back, I thought we were going to do a little loop walk but the next thing I know we are walking part way up Mount Tennent, headed for Cypress Pine Lookout - see what happens when you are lost in your own little world behind the lens of the camera!
The example of the slab hut in image 6 has many elements I would love in a home... rustic timber (as you can see in image 7) and it looked like a rammed earth wall but may have been formed concrete, either way it is just beautiful.
The walk was good, moderately difficult due to the climb but the walking track is good and fairly sheltered in amongst the trees and shrubs. The scenery and views were all spectacular and you can see more images here.

Strathnairn Arts Association in Canberra on Easter Saturday, 2016 (it's taken me a few weeks to get back here and post them).
"Strathnairn Arts Association Inc. is a no- for-profit arts association supported by the ACT Government that provides working spaces and facilities for a range of artists and crafts people and community groups."
It is located on the western edge of Canberra near the Murrumbidgee River (and not far from Shepherd's Lookout.
If I were to dream up my perfect property this would come pretty close - acreage, vegie gardens, the best chook yard ever, art studios, cafe, art gallery and a place to sell my wares to the public... I would be a pretty happy camper. We can all dream... and even though it is not my property it's a wonderful resource that exists for artists and makers in Canberra, and for an avid photographer like me there is a wealth of character and charm to capture through the lens. You can see more images here.
