As usual, once I get around to doing something I am always so very happy because of the satisfaction of experiencing the beauty.
Parking on Sulwood Drive we opted to follow Mrs Low's Fire Trail which is a steady climb... le puff, le pant. The views are stunning from even the lower part of the walk, taking in east, south and west views with the Tuggeranong Valley being the prominent vista. Once at the top though you also get to see 'over the back' to the north which takes in Woden Valley and distant views to Black Mountain. The expansive views are magnificent, it would be beautiful at night time looking down at all the twinkling lights... but my favourite is the view across to the mountain ranges. I believe the one in the foreground is Bullen Range Nature Reserve and Urambi Hills Nature Reserve, the Murrumbidgee Corrider and then the Brindabellas in the background.
No kangaroos spotted but we did see more divine little birds darting and dashing about in the bushes and some lovely Magpies, one of which was happy to pose for a photo. More images can be seen here...

Shepherds Lookout as I'd stumbled across the information online and wanted to check it out.
So glad I did... it's spectacularly beautiful with expansive views taking in the Murrumbidgee River. Along walk we also spotted lots of lovely little local birds... I could be wrong in my identification of them but I believe the first bird image is a Buff-rumped Thornbill, the next is a Wagtail and the last is a White-browed Scrubwren. It was really hard to photograph them as they dash and dart through the scrub... but it was a pleasure to watch them and to hear them.
You can see more images of the views here.
[Yes, I've been absent again... I'm hoping that something that has been taking the majority of my focus and attention will come full-circle by the end of March and I can then finally start to get back to the things I love and that make me, me... I live in hope. Also, it's been so incredibly hot that there has not been any bike-riding, other outdoor activities or gardening so as the weather starts to cool off over the next few weeks there should be more activity].
